My sign started to look a little worn out so I checked it out today. It has been very windy lately and the bungee cords and rope were all worn out. Also the main post for both signs needs to have a hole dug and concrete it back.

90 degree swivel replacement
My boom problem
It took forever to figure out what the problem was with the boom. I installed a new shiny Mosmatic 90 degree swivel and it would still leak. Took off the swivel and it looks like a good bit of the threads are semi-stripped. So I really tightened the swivel down and the leak went away. (This was the first time for that problem, I guess the car wash gods are eating away at the boom slowly and the booms life is coming to an end.) Since I tightened the swivel more it made the swivel too high so you could not install the high pressure hose (because of the hp fitting). So I had to make some extra room with my grinder.
While I was repairing the bay I decided to replace all the hoses and fittings. I used the black hose (6 foot hp hose) in the boom, then a brass coupler, then a 4 inch piece of stainless steel piping (to prevent the boom from rubbing a hole in the hp hose), then a brass 90. After I install that setup I added a 1 foot hp hose (swivel saver), next a swivel and then a 8 foot hose. You could then do a swivel then the gun, but I left out that swivel. I am not really sure you could tell the difference.
This time I purchased these fancy Mosmatic in-line swivels. They are shinny and look better for now.
Maybe someone could send in your bay setup and I could post some pictures?
Hydrominder Problem – update
I guess whenever I touch something, something has to break? The body of the hydrominder just cracked off, after checking what tip was being used. After I cracked the body I noticed a large flaw in the Mark VII Proline design. If you look at the last picture their is one pvc pipe and no shut off valves. So you have to shut all the water off to repair one hydrominder? I would imagine that Marc VII has fixed this problem in their new version of the Proline? No customers because of the rain, but as soon as I cut off the water, there was a customer!
Hydrominder problem
This is the high pressure soap hydrominder: The eductor was leaking or at least it looked like it.
The brass elbow somehow got eaten away which made the eductor seem cracked. So when I was installing a new brass fitting, I cracked the plastic valve body. I want to have constant repaires at all times. Oboviously you should not over tighten the fittings to the body!
Foam brush solenoid problem
New solenoid bank install
Well this old solenoid bank drank the last 10 gallons of tire cleaner that it will ever drink. I really don’t like dumping good tire cleaner down the drain, so this was the last time for this thing. This solenoid bank keeps sticking and I really don’t understand why. It keeps moving from bay 1 and 2. I would clean 1 then 2 would start, then 1 or 2 would drink all the tire cleaner overnight. This happened three times and countless cleanings. I think it is possessed?
So I swapped it out with a solenoid bank that I purchased from Greg. The solenoids are larger and when I installed them they didn’t work. Note the red arrows: this solenoid bank has metering. Wow! this drove me crazy figuring this out. But I should have figured it out at first, not after disassembling everything twice.
