So I Wanted a Stripper…. Then I Got the Phone Call!

So I have liked strippers for the past 30 years.  My first stripper I purchased from Kmart (of all places) when they had employee appreciation day and I got 20% off (my first job…. I told them our Kmart store was going to close after WalMart opened btw…. It did.)  My first yellow stripper lasted the longest until the blade fell off somewhere.  My second red Neiko 01924A lasted almost 5 years.  My Neiko’s plastic red handle would keep falling off.  (I guess I could have epoxied it or duct taped it? or #$@% it…. This tool just got super annoying to use…. sorry for the language!  LOL 🙂  The handle is cheap and just not ergonomic. )  Today I got a tip from Greg about strippers…. About the Klein Tools 11061 stripper.  So I purchase the Klein as my replacement…. Maybe it will last 5-25 years?  🙂

BTW The Klein 11061 cost $22.05 and the Neiko 01924A cost $16.58…. So it is really not worth getting a cheaper version if you plan on using the tool.

This is a really great type to have if you ever have to strip lots of cables…. Alone with a good pair of wire cutters (The built in cutters on these strippers are annoying to use more then once and because this tool is really used for lots of cable cutting do not think about it.  🙂 )  Great stripper design though.

I do have different style wire strippers in my bag.  These are better for working on less wires.  These are Klein Tools 11055…. I also have a smaller style and a couple different brands actually.  I believe I have 2 of the Klein actually?  🙂

Best Dixmor Remote EVER?!!!!!

IMG_20140324_122907IMG_20140324_122727IMG_20140324_122913IMG_20140324_122917IMG_20140324_122925

I have been testing out this Sony RM-KZ1 remote and I have to say…. IT IS THE BEST EVER! So what it is for a little baby…. think who your giving the remote to. 🙂 It has super great features! You can program the buttons to whatever number you want them to be? Not sure if that is cool? You can program each selection for 2 numbers! I did this…. cool because I really hate pushing extra buttons. LOL 🙂 But the best feature is…. wait for it! You can disable the volume control!!!! This is actually something Dixmor dropped the ball on. Dixmor should have 2 codes I believe…. one for smart people and one for dumb people. I had a cleanup person actually change the code for me! But they somehow remembered the code? Weird? I am telling you…. If you use Dixmor timers and a remote…. try this Sony remote out! It is really great…. I think it also has extra ir emitters on the remote? But it works a lot better then the Dixmor remote and works out of the box.

BTW I use the remote on Dixmor LED 7 timers.

I usually don’t do camera reviews BUT…..

The new Leica M Monochrom has got to be the dumbest idea I have ever seen! Why would anyone want a $7,950.00 Digital Rangefinder (no lens included) which is ONLY Black & White? Can’t you just purchase a M9-P or a poor persons M9 ($6,995.00) and convert color images like a normal person?

Have you ever run out of chemicals?

I picked the 2 best “foam brush chemicals” and took 25 fl oz of each of the diluted chemical and added 5 gallons of water.  The winners were 3)  Dis™h Detergent Original Scent (dish cleaner 50 ounces) and 4)  Perfect 10 Black Currant Bodywash  (bodywash for your body 25 ounces).  I lost the pictures for number 4 but number 3 was the best the dish detergent.

Have you ever run out of chemicals?

Disclaimer:  I have always wondered what other chemicals you could use for foam brush in a bind and I had some time to kill.  Actually, my chemical guy sold me hand soap as foam brush chemical and it was my favorite.  Now I use Erie Brush chemicals and really like their foam brush and wax.

Have you ever run out of chemicals and only had $1?  What would be the best chemical to purchase from the Dollar Store?  I am on assignment to root out the winner!

1)  “Dial Basics HypoAllergenic” (bar soap, 3 bars)  It is dematologist tested maybe even tested on animals?  I cut the bars up with a knife.

2)  “Classic Sun Clean & Fresh” (all purpose powder detergent 1.5 pounds)

3)  “Dis’h Detergent Original Scent” (dish cleaner 50 ounces)

4)  “Perfect 10 Black Currant Bodywash”  (bodywash for your body 25 ounces)

5)  “White Rain Conditioner Energizing Citrus”  (hair conditioner 19.95 ounces)

I just dumped the products in then added 5 gallons of hot water and let sit for 24 hours.

To test the chemicals I made a foam brush setup and even used a “super foamer” (second photo).  I hooked up the yellow air compressor to a large broken air compressor in my garage.  I also have a bucket full of water to clear out the lines.  I used a screw driver to weigh down the chemical line.

1)  Dial Basics HypoAllergenic (bar soap, 3 bars)  2)  Classic Sun Clean & Fresh  3)  Dis™h Detergent Original Scent  4)  Perfect 10 Black Currant Bodywash  5)  White Rain Conditioner Energizing Citrus

Results full strength products

Maybe not full strength but just the product along with 5 gallons of water.

Number 1:  Dial Basics HypoAllergenic (bar soap, 3 bars)   Very nice foam the only problem is you need a knife and some amount of time for it is disolve.

IMG_6076.jpgIMG_6078.jpg

Number 2:  Classic Sun Clean & Fresh  Really a stupid product to try but at least it was $1.

IMG_6087.jpgIMG_6082.jpg

Number 3:  Dis™h Detergent Original Scent Really way to foamy.

IMG_6091.jpgIMG_6093.jpgIMG_6095.jpg

Number 4: Perfect 10 Black Currant Bodywash  Really to foamy.

IMG_6099.jpgIMG_6102.jpgIMG_6103.jpg

Number 5:  White Rain Conditioner Energizing Citrus  Probably purchasing conditioner was not the best idea?  I guess maybe shampoo?
