Wreck Squad of the East Side?

IMG_0843.JPGIMG_0845.JPGIMG_0847.JPG

I really hate getting tires but it was not as bad as getting the Wreck Squad from the East Side tagging your place.

I guess the squad is new and they tagged the upscale downtown area (above pictures)?  But they have a website and they seem to not be from Wylam.  They must fly to Birmingham to show the Wreck Squad from the West Side who is boss?

Cross threading pvc, Cool!

 IMG_0522.JPGIMG_0528.JPGIMG_0536.JPG

I cross threaded my elbow pvc piece today, then I had to go to Home Depot again to purchase a metal elbow.  I needed to add an elbow to allow the weep solenoid to stop all the water.

I can not figure out why this solenoid does not work.  It looks like the spring is messed up.  But why is there another spring in the solenoid base (last picture).  I just replaced the solenoid with a new spare one.

Also when I was trying to repair the weep solenoid I messed up these crappy brass fittings.  I love when fixing one problem causes other problems.

Old foam brush handle

I was trying to replace the brush and the whole end of the brush handle cracked.  I have never thought to check the end of the handle, it looks totally corroded.

Not really sure about this problem.  The lock would not turn so I sprayed some WD40 in the lock and I was able to wiggle it free.  Do I need to replace the plug lock?

Sandpiper pump problems

IMG_0317.JPG

I replaced the poly hose line with a cool orange air hose.  I also used some fancy air hose connections and a ball valve.

IMG_0304.JPGIMG_0303.JPGIMG_0301.JPG

I swapped out one of my sandpiper pumps and I actually have less air leaking out, but I could fix 3/4 of the problems.  The top brass fitting needed new tape to seal it from leaking (the top threaded piece has a crack).  The diaphragm is leaking but I tightened it and could not get it to stop.  Last problem was the air connector which was leaking so I replaced the part.

Foam brush solenoid problem

When you turn off the foam brush and the chemical still comes out, that is bad.  It also says there is crap in the solenoid valve.

IMG_0280.JPGIMG_0281.JPGIMG_0282.JPGIMG_0284.JPG

You want to check the plunger, usually their will be crap making it be stuck open.  So you have to take the valve apart.

IMG_0288.JPGIMG_0294.JPG

This is about as bad as I have seen.  But usually the crap is smaller.

Sometimes the rubber plunger thing (last picture) can be messed up to allow a constant stream.
