New equipment idea – move ro tank

IMG_8602.JPGIMG_8604.JPG

I removed my new ro tank and switched back to my old black ro tank.  I had to do this to allow the new/used Coleman equipment to fit in the equipment room.  It was a lot of trouble considering I moved it to the other side of the equipment room.

Roof-Mounted attic fan – Installed

I measured the temperature today to compare tomorrow after the fan has been running.  The Weep Mizer which the probe in outside a couple of inches from the roof said 95.  Then the thermometer about a foot or two from the roof said it was 88 inside.  I just know it was very hot today especially on the roof.

I drilled a hole from the inside of the equipment room.  Then I marked my plan of attack.

Here are some of my crappy tools I used to mount the fan.  My crappy riveter which I got from Harbor Freight.  I had problems using it to rivet.  But it could be me because I have not riveted anything sense high school.  Also, my Skil saw is crappy or I can not use it correctly either.  It dropped three blades into the equipment room.  The chuck thing is bad I guess.  Also, I broke one blade myself.  My cool GMC drill worked flawlessly but it also has chuck problems sometimes.  I only buy the best drills.  Actually my DeWalt has two dead batteries.

Fan installed and riveted down.

I used Great Stuff because it is great stuff.  My plan is to put roof patching material over the gaps and over the great stuff.

I hooked the fan up to the power and everything worked the first time.  I think that it will really make a difference.  But I will be able to tell tomorrow.

It was funny as soon as I wired the fan to work.  I saw a wasp in the equipment room.  The fan turned on and the wasp flew directly into the fan and got killed.

Air leak

I had the main hose that runs all my low pressure break last night.  The compressor was very hot which really is no surprise.  Also, the sandpiper pump was not primed and I had to pull the pump outlet to make it work again.

High pressure soap problem

I did not push the chemical hose all the way in the chemical tank because I did not want it to over flow.  So instead I ran out of chemical a couple weeks later.  I check the chemical tanks every day.  I do not check the mixing tanks.  I guess that was my mistake.

Talking message center like device

I am not an electrical engineer but I checked the voltage coming from the loop detector and the dvd player and they did not have any.  I guess the loop detector maybe just completes the loop of something else?  I am not sure I will need to read about the detector.

But the test worked great.  I hooked the play switch directly to the loop detector’s car presence.  It will turn on the dvd player.  What I like about this dvd player it the play button just plays and does not pause also.  Pausing would be bad.  So with this dvd player it would play the message all the way through and then reset to the beginning of the dvd.  I will need to test more on the dvd player and find a speaker to play the message.

Foam brush chemical problems

I called my chemical guy to order blue foam brush chemical today.  I was using blue triple foam which did not foam.  I should have noticed but the chemical is blue and has a blue top.  But that does not make it “Bubbles Foam Brush Shampoo”.  Stupid mistake and I do not have triple foam.  I should blame it all on the chemical guy.

Talking message center like device

I have loop detectors in my bays for mega time which resets after the car leaves.  But I also want to promote the fact I have mega time.  (The fact I have a big ugly sign in each bay above where you put the money in, does not seem to help.)  When a customer drives in the bay after an allotted period of time a message could play.

My idea is that I hook up a dvd player to my loop detector and then play the audio in the bay.  Like the GinSan GS-52 talking message center.  I think the GinSan cost $523.21.  But I could purchase 4 x $36 Wal-Mart dvd players (I already have one dvd player), 5 relays and 5 speakers for less then the price of one of the GinSan.

It sounds great in theory but I have not tried it yet.

Roof-Mounted attic fan

Well, I purchased my attic fan today.  I went with the smallest fan it states it is for 1600 sq ft attics.  I am not sure why they do not go by cubic feet.  My equipment room is about 220 sq ft.  It was $54.95 and if it does not cool well I could add another I guess.

I need to get a larger ladder because I am a wimp and am afraid I will not be able to get back off the roof.

Also, it was hot today.

Cut the post cover

I marked the post by flipping the post over and comparing to the others.

Then cut with my table saw.  I was to lazy to mount the post.  Maybe tomorrow.  I am replacing the post that got stolen.
