ShurVendPlus Sir Half-Pint

IMG_5514.JPGIMG_5507.JPG

I really would like to replace my D/H Max-Vend II with something that vends more items.  So I emailed Jim @ ShurVendPlus .  He posted that they were coming out with a new machine, the Sir Half-Pint.  Holds 18-20 products and needs a hole in the wall 41-inches wide by 44-inches high and projects 40-inches in the equipment room.  It holds more products per column, which is good.  Then off to measure my wall and space I have.

IMG_5495.JPGIMG_5494.JPG

From the wall to the equipment it is around 25 inches, from the outside wall to the equipment is around 40 inches, from the wall to the end of the vendor it is around 14 inches, the ShurVend sticks out 40 inches from the wall?, not good.

From the inside corner of the wall to the door is around 36 inches, the ShurVend needs 41 inches wide but he did say the unit is actually 37 inches, still not good.

The actually measurements for the Max Ven II unit are about 26 1/2 inches x 35 inches, outside (front) of the Max Ven II is 32 inches x 41 inches.  The name on the D/H might be correct, it is the "max" I can "ven" in that space.  (I had to say it sorry.)  Even if the unit fit, which it looks like it can not, it is a rear loading unit.  But there might be hope, they are thinking of making a front loading unit, but unless it is smaller I will still have a problem.

 Other measurements

The concrete pad is 36 inches from the wall.  From the pole to the door is around 46 inches.  From the end of the equipment room to the door is around 49 inches.  From the ground to the top of the vender is around 70 inches.  From the ground to the top of the door is around 88 inches.  From the ground to the bottom of the canopy is around 97 inches.

Used vending machines

There is apparently a used vending machine guy in town that refurbs, you guess it, vending machines.  I would really like to purchase a new vending machine but these seem kinda of high.  From first picture to last.  2000, 2500, 1100, 2500,  2900, and 2000.  I like the first machine but I am not sure I even have space for it.

Wet flood and customer complaint

n1.jpg

The floor of my equipment room was wet. I was wondering if it was a problem with my ro system because there was a small leak a couple weeks ago. http://cwguy.com/?p=1296 I went out to one of the bays with a cone to close it, as shown above (proof).

This is the guy deciding not to get change but to move the cone and to test out the bay to get a free car wash.

I was in the equipment room and the ro system turns off and another low pressure function turns on. After a moment the high pressure turns on. Then I decide to walk out to see what is happening. I walk out and the guy immediately says “are you working on this bay?” I said “not any-more” as I move the cone and said “let me reset the timer for you so you can use the bay.” Which I did, then walked out of the equipment room again. Then he looks puzzled that the bay is reset and I guess he gets mad? (I am not sure how.) He starts talking about how I ripped him off the other day, with my mega time $4.00 thing and he only got 10 minutes. Then he starts repeating, “I am going to wash my car somewhere else and I am not coming back.” I was stunned and really did not have anytime to respond. Then while he was getting in his truck for the last time he says “I will not wash my car here again.” The only thing I could think of saying in return, Okay. Then I watched dumfounded as he drove off.

Float valve problem – update

IMG_4758.JPGIMG_4759.JPG

I got the float valve to quit leaking.  I think it had something to do with the valve being at an angle and the shaft for the float being bent.  I tried to straighten the shaft and something bad happened.

IMG_4761.JPGIMG_4762.JPG

This is the reason I did not want to try and fix the valve until I had a spare.  Now time to install the new valve that I just got from Greg.

IMG_4763.JPGIMG_4768.JPGIMG_4769.JPG

Only problem is the valve sticks up to high and the lid needed to be wedged in to fit.

Float valve problem

Well the floor is wet and the float valve seems to be constantly running.  I am afraid to touch the valve because I do not have a spare.  Greg says he has one I can purchase from him tomorrow.

This guy stole my garbage can lid – Update

IMG_4617.JPG

The guy came by the tunnel today to visit me.  I was parked at the road and he saw my car.  He said his local scrap yard sent the lid to the Birmingham scrap yard.  He also said that the Birmingham scrap yard knows him and he was looking for it.  The Police detective also called yesterday and confirmed the story.  E04

This guy stole my garbage can lid – Update

IMG_4469.JPG

Well, today I printed up some of these signs, asking if anyone has seen this guy.  Also, I got some pictures developed at Sams to give to the detective and to ask people around town.  Well, I gave the pictures to my Dad to show some people and the first person knew exactly where he lived.  My Dad told me the address and I called the Police.  Unbelievable, I actually am very lucky so far.

When I knew the guys address, I could not resist driving by his house and taking a picture.  I bet this is a surprise to everyone that I wanted to take a picture.

IMG_4476.jpgIMG_4477.jpgIMG_4478.jpg

Apparently, I was not very discrete about taking these pictures; of course I did not care either.

IMG_4478c.JPG

After these pictures he for some reason decided to follow me.  I stopped at a stop sign and noticed him following me.  Like a moron I waited for him and let him pull up besides me.  He was with his wife and he started asking why I was taking pictures.  I told him because he took my garbage can lid.  He became very nice and the first thing he asked was how I found him.  I told him someone ratted him out.  He then said that the detective just left his house.  He was going to pick the lid up at the scrap yard.  I said they better have it because the lid would cost around $500 to replace.  His wife freaked out and he started apologizing and got out of his truck.  He talked about how great and ethical he is.  About how he has five kids.  I responded with a “so the lid cost $500”.  I told him I was afraid that he would come back to get the others.  He showed me the salvage receipt for 24 pounds of aluminum he got $10.40.  He kind of bitched about not having that much money to get it back.  So?  His wife said she could get it out of the bank.  I said “I hope to god the salvage place did not melt it down.”  He explained the process and I explained I needed it back now and I did not care that he needed gas money.

He actually ran out of gas across the street from the car wash when he stole the lid.  During the conversation he said he knew I had security cameras and was not surprised he got caught.  Also, that he noticed the garbage lid was loose when he was vacuuming out his truck a couple days ago.  When he needed gas money he stole the lid.

He was actually wearing the exact same clothing that he had on when he took the lid.  He looked exactly like the pictures from yesterday.  E04
