Sandpiper pump problem

My Sandpiper pump was not getting enough air. The air regulator was not giving enough air to the pump.  We had to turn it off for earlier repairs and did not turn it all the way up.  I will need to adjust the air compressor because the Sandpiper says it wants 100 psi.  But that is for another day.

Fixed all my troubles

William, created the main copper manifold for replacing the pvc today.  Everything works perfectly.  Which is good.  He also put in a pressure regulator and removed the backflow preventer.  We were thinking the backflow preventer was causing the water pulsating.  We were wrong though.  It was the fact that the float value did not have a hose on it.  Oh well.  At least everything works.

Well, someone did break one hydrominder.  I had to replace the body today.  Only one thing breaking when repairing everything is pretty good.

Stupidest thing I have done at the car wash all year

Today, I decided to cut off the old PVC and replace the whole thing.  I should have just replaced the first "T".  Then I used slip bushings in my plan, bad idea.  William started helping around the big blue shaved down coupling.  It did not fit.

I installed the old backflow preventer back on.  Then we turned on the water.  The water started pulsating very badly.  We watched when two "T’s" broke loose and you know the rest of the story.  It was late and we were in Wylam so we closed the wash and cut the power to the pumps and ran away.

J-B Stick Weld works on PVC? – Bad Luck

Well the plan was to J-B Stick Weld the PVC and fix the leak.  This was probably one of the worse ideas all year.  But it was inedible.

I tried adding J-B once and it did not help.  Then the second time I added more and it still did not help.  It seemed to leak even more.

Then after inspecting the PVC with the water off I tried to turn the water back on.  But the water bib was broken then I started to mess with the water bib before the backflow preventer.  Then that water bib was broken.  Then William came over to help and he turned the main water bib and guess what happened.

THREE WATER BIBS BROKEN IN ONE DAY.  Talking about crappy luck.

Then the water meter was buried with dirt and roots.  Also, the concrete housing shifted to make it very hard to turn the water off.

But William did save the day and got everything working correctly.  The setup now has all ball valves this time.  But there was one last problem.  I installed my new used backflow preventer that I purchased.  Well, the backflow preventer leaks like crazy.  So William and I decided to give up for the day and I will replace the backflow preventer tomorrow.
