Weird vacuum motor problem?

IMG_1958.JPGIMG_1992.JPGIMG_1993.JPG

I was having a weird vacuum motor problem?  It seemed to work when it wanted to, but it always was pushing lots of air out of the motor.  I was going to check the motor brushes anyway and noticed the seal was gone.  I believe the seal wore away and caused the suction problem.  So I went to Lowes and purchased some rubber gaskets.

I cut a hole in the rubber gasket and it started to work again.  Yea!

Why reading sometimes is good?

Yes, I already got this fixed before.  Yes, I might have broken it while installing it the first time.  Yes, I think Dixmor is the best for repairing stuff.

So I installed the DX-1000 Weep Mizer which means that I had to remove my Rube Goldberg weep system.

I purchased an Asco Red-Hat II normally open solenoid.  After installing the solenoid I needed to attach the 3 wires coming out of the solenoid.  I decided to install the 2 red wires to the black wire and the green and yellow wire to the white power wire.  This was the wrong way and not cutting the power first caused a huge mini-sun flash.  It also turned my glove black and shocked me pretty good, making my pinkie numb.  I closed my eyes and I could still see this bright light.  Then after installing the wires correctly I figured out that I installed the solenoid the wrong direction.  The solenoid would not close all the way when installed the wrong way, who would have thought?  So the moral of the story is to try and read the instructions after you get shocked?

Small presoak leak

I always like having a leak in the low pressure functions.  I guess that is why you have to check them all the time?

It was also one of those days when every one of the bays had mud in it, FUN!

Why PVC is not always a great idea?

IMG_1761.JPGIMG_1748.JPGIMG_18003.JPG

I had to replace the 1/2″ schedule 80 pvc elbow with a metal street elbow today, because of a small leak.  I am going to replace the solenoid later so I did not replace all the pvc for now.  I guess the weep solenoid (sprinkler system solenoid) may have worn out the pvc (from cutting on and off) and caused a small crack.

I also installed the last Flojet pump.  Now I just need to put the last 2 Flojet pumps online.

Coleman Fragrance Vacuum Problem

IMG_1611.JPGIMG_1615.JPGIMG_1617.JPG

I replaced all the barbs with Parker 1/8″ x 1/8″ push lock fittings.   (I purchased from Grainger like MEP1 told me to.  Thanks)  But I am having a weird problem I can not figure out.

2/3 fragrances work, the one that does not work really should work though.  This is what I tried.

1)  Checked the wire from the timer to the solenoid with a voltmeter.  Works

2)  Button works and makes a sound when pushed, the air also keeps running when the button is pushed.

3)  When I rewire (hot wire) frag 2 to frag 3 (broken) the solenoid will work fine.

4)  When I rewire (hot wire) frag 3 (broken) to frag 2 the solenoid will not work.

5)  Swapped the timer with another fragrance vacuum.  Still does not work.

6)  Ground seems to be all connected fine to the solenoid.  Checked with voltmeter.

7)  Rewire from the timer wire (wire harness) to the solenoid and still did not work.

The only things I did not check:

1)  Voltage

2)  Rewiring the wire on the wire harness to the solenoid.

You do not see this everyday

This truck is hauling a variety of equipment.  You do not see a automatic going down the road everyday.  (It looks like a Ryko?  Or a Cadillac?)

This car is in the wrong location.  You see this every once in a while, people enjoy driving on the rail road tracks.
