LAI lock install

IMG_0005.JPG

I ordered a couple LAI locks to check them out and ended up ordering the wrong kind.  I ordered the B622F 600 series high security cam locks that can fit the cylinder locks that I also ordered.  But with the high security locks you can not remove the key when the lock is unlocked,  it has to be in the locked position to remove the key.  This feature is really crappy because the Fragramatics vacuum has 3 locks on the door so I would need 3 keys to open the door, not cool.  So I am going to have to purchase some 500 series cam locks, but the 500 series can turn right and left where the high security can only do one or the other, which is good.  Wow what a pain.

I hate it when I know what the problem is! – Update

Greg came by my wash today and I talked him into showing me how to troubleshoot my rotary switch.  Greg explained that you should get 24 volts on the hp wax stack, which I was getting.  This means that my rotary switch was working fine.  So we tested from the switch to the terminal block in the meter box, which was all 24 volts.  So this means that the long run had a bad connection.  I found where I crimped them together and there was a problem.  Yeah, problem solved!

I hate it when I “know” what the problem is!

So the problem is the high pressure wax function does not work in one of the bays.  First I decided there was crap in the hp wax solenoid.  So I slowly starved the pump of water to pull the crap out of the solenoid.  That did not work so I removed the solenoid to clean it, which did not work.  So I decided the problem was with the needle valve which I just removed all of them, that did not help.  Then I pulled out my voltmeter and checked to see if I was getting voltage from the switch to the equipment room which I was not (I am getting somewhere!).  So now I need to figure out how to check a rotary switch.  I need to give Greg a call!

Daniel Stewart call Margaret!

Daniel Stewart, if this message reaches you, call Margaret “no matter what time you get home” even if you get home late from finding garbage around town and selling it (like the 28 pounds of cans you got $8.90 for and the 9 pounds of wire you got $2.70 for).

Also, I figured out that these metal recycling centers like Exit 100 www.exit100.info do not accept stolen property!  It says so at the bottom of the receipt.  I wonder if they have my trash can lid?
