Hamilton Handheld works!

I finally got my Hamilton handheld (TT120EKR2-1) to work with no help from Hamilton support.  Hamilton support always blamed the $411 handheld unit (which I have 2 of) saying there was a problem with them.  Of course Hamilton is not allowed by the manufacturers of the handheld to repair the handheld.  So support just recommends to replace the handheld, never mentioning the data cord, which I already had a problem with.  So I got a replacement data cord and everything worked great.

I called Hamilton support today (1-800-837-5561) and they dialed into my modem and checked out my credit card computer.  They said that the unit was turned off for a very long time and it was reset a lot of times.  So apparently they can not really check anything by dialing into the system.  (I knew that much!)  They did say to send the unit in to them and they think it will cost anywhere between $200 and $500 to fix.

William was trying to show me how the entry unit works and the Hamilton handheld would not work.  (The handheld, from what I have gathered, programs prices and the credit card computer.)  William called Hamilton to try and get the handheld to work but nothing would work.  Ends up that the cord was messed up (last picture).

I took the $1900 Hamilton credit card computer home with me to fix the handheld cord, which I did.  I did not take the 2 boards apart but the top board looks like an Aprotek modem.

C-2000 Hamilton changer controller – Update

Randy got my changers working before the weekend!  The only problem is that it is supposed to rain everyday.

Actually, both of my Cycle Inhibit Adapter harnesses were broken.  I just plugged in the new ones in and everything worked perfectly.  The only thing I hate about the harness is the small terminal that does not fit the bill acceptor.  The reason they do this is so you will put the harness in wrong and blow the bill acceptor (which I have done).
