Update on my Hamilton credit card acceptor (ACW entry unit) which quit working. Randy Nix of Eagle Car Wash called me back today and told me they were going to fix the credit card acceptor under warranty, which is great! I just need to get a hold of Bob Krist at Hamilton Changer and see what is up.
My Hamilton credit card acceptor (ACW entry unit) quit working again and I had to call Hamilton service at 1-800-837-5561. They are really good at trouble shooting the problem but I did not like the fact it was broken. I had to call my friend again, Randy Nix of Eagle Car Wash, to see if the acceptor is under warranty.
I just realized that my credit card acceptor has not been working for around a week so I checked it out with a voltmeter. The meter was telling me that the credit card reader was dead. So I called Hamilton to help me troubleshoot the problem. First problem was they could not dial into my entry system (acw-5). So I tried to post a report by hitting F2, F2, Y on the handheld. That is why the handheld (first picture) had the “LAST POST **ERRORR**” message, this means that the entry unit can not dial out. The problem ended up being a punch down that broke (second picture).
Then I called Hamilton back again and they trouble shot the credit card acceptor again and declared it dead. It is still under warranty so Randy Nix at Eagle Car Wash fixed me up and they are going to send me a replacement. I really appreciate Randy; he is a great Hamilton Distributor and guy. He even calls back and handles problems for you!
Randy told me to check out my Cycle Inhibit Adapter harnesses, which was the problem. It has a short in the wires that are not wrapped. I am just going to replace the harness. But it was really weird that the changer had the same error yesterday 3 times in a row. Then today it worked for 10-12 bills until I touched the harness; then I could make it turn on and off by touching the wires. Great feature!
I purchased an extra c2000 Hamilton controller. I have always wanted an extra controller but I also want an extra Mars bill acceptor. I was testing out the new controller and it had a weird problem. It seems to shut down if you put in 3-4 bills in less than 30 seconds and then it restarts after 5 minutes. It did this 3 times in a row and I will email Randy and see what the problem could be.
I recieved my fixed MEI Mars acceptor today from Randy Nix at Eagle Car Wash. I will see f it works tomorrow.
