Klean-Wall VS Mister Plumber ($1 Store Crap)

I got a sample of Klean-Wall free from his website at apchemical.com and I purchased some Mister Plumber from some Dollar Store down the street.  The Fake Drano contains: water, sodium hypochlorite, sodium hydroxide and surfactants.  The Klean-Wall contains: magic.

Both sections look equally as bad.  The directions on the Klean-Wall said 3-5 minutes so I let both chemicals stay on 5 minutes.

The Klean-Wall after 5 minutes did a lot better job (first picture).  But the Fake Drano did a pretty good job.

I reapplied the Fake Drano and let it sit for 30 minutes.  It turned out a lot better but not as good as the Klean-Wall.  But for the price of the Fake Drano maybe you should try Fake Drano over Klean-Wall?

International Carwash Association Trade Show 2010

This was a new product that everyone was talking about this year.  It was from Hydra-Flex Inc. the Aqua-Lsb TX 9000F Chemical Delivery System.  Wow that is a mouth full!  The big unit (first picture) costs around $15,000 and it replaces all your hydrominders with injectors and delivery pumps.  You can supposedly save up to 20% including electricity, water, chemical and maintenance!  But not really sure what the difference would be if you regulated your water into your hydrominders?  Also the other problem they pointed out was the hydrominder tips ware and that is how the unit saves on chemicals.

The little unit (last picture) I was told was for self-serve but I talked to Hydra-Flex last year (when they only sold injectors) and they said injectors were not good for self-serve, only automatics and tunnels so who knows?  The guy was also trying to sell a unit to my Dad.  🙂

Chemical Refill

Today I refilled all my chemicals.  I need to setup a Flojet pump station like Mep1 suggested but I have not done that yet.  I had to hand pump today with is always fun and makes a mess.

Water Wizard Preparation – Water lines install

Today William and I installed part of the water lines for the Water Wizard.  I am going to use softened water for my chemicals and street water for my high pressure water.  We also setup the RO water for the Wizard.

We added a tee and a 1″ water supply to the soft water supply for the chemical lines.  I could not connect everything because I did not have all the correct parts.

We added another tee for the RO water and I did not have all the pieces to finish the rest.

I did not have all the correct pieces to connect the main water line either.  Maybe tomorrow I will finish.

ICA Trade show smaller?

I got a distributor pass from Trans-Mate so I was able to walk the floor early. (Thanks Trans-Mate; I am actually switching to their chemicals.). The floor seemed smaller than last year with less booths but we will have to wait on attendance. But it is always exciting to walk the floor!

Have you ever run out of chemicals?

I picked the 2 best “foam brush chemicals” and took 25 fl oz of each of the diluted chemical and added 5 gallons of water.  The winners were 3)  Dis™h Detergent Original Scent (dish cleaner 50 ounces) and 4)  Perfect 10 Black Currant Bodywash  (bodywash for your body 25 ounces).  I lost the pictures for number 4 but number 3 was the best the dish detergent.

Have you ever run out of chemicals?

Disclaimer:  I have always wondered what other chemicals you could use for foam brush in a bind and I had some time to kill.  Actually, my chemical guy sold me hand soap as foam brush chemical and it was my favorite.  Now I use Erie Brush chemicals and really like their foam brush and wax.

Have you ever run out of chemicals and only had $1?  What would be the best chemical to purchase from the Dollar Store?  I am on assignment to root out the winner!

1)  “Dial Basics HypoAllergenic” (bar soap, 3 bars)  It is dematologist tested maybe even tested on animals?  I cut the bars up with a knife.

2)  “Classic Sun Clean & Fresh” (all purpose powder detergent 1.5 pounds)

3)  “Dis’h Detergent Original Scent” (dish cleaner 50 ounces)

4)  “Perfect 10 Black Currant Bodywash”  (bodywash for your body 25 ounces)

5)  “White Rain Conditioner Energizing Citrus”  (hair conditioner 19.95 ounces)

I just dumped the products in then added 5 gallons of hot water and let sit for 24 hours.

Have you ever run out of chemicals?

To test the chemicals I made a foam brush setup and even used a “super foamer” (second photo).  I hooked up the yellow air compressor to a large broken air compressor in my garage.  I also have a bucket full of water to clear out the lines.  I used a screw driver to weigh down the chemical line.
