Rowe High Security Bill Acceptor Inlet Plate for the BC-1400 – Update

IMG_0756.JPGIMG_0761.JPGIMG_0764.JPG

There are six nuts that hold the face plate on.  They are not very serviceable and took forever with my broken wrench.  After I got off six from the one changer I noticed the two face plates were welded together.  What a pain I have six more to go so I gave up.  I liked how all the bottom nuts were all rusted.

The last picture is the almost free Rowe anti-security plate.  I tested the new grinded plate on a spare cabinet that I have and it worked and lined up.

High Rowe Security Bill Acceptor Inlet Plate for the BC-1400 Kit #27040201

I was missing 3 of the 4 screws and hex nuts.  I order from Kleen Rite even though they sold me used stuff last time http://cwguy.com//?p=983 .  But I will need to email them for some replacements.  I tried to use another Rowe distributor and they could not be bothered to quote prices.

Rowe tech guy

I called Rowe today and they said they sell a high security face plate (27040201 KR: $54.64) which is good.  But it only is for the bc-1400.  The Rowe tech guy said I was sol on my bc-200.  Then I told him I hated my Rowe changers and I was disappointed that they could not help me with my hammer problem.  He actually faxed the install instructions like he said.  Very impressive, I always have very bad luck with customer service people.

I have some pictures of the high security face plate.  I think maybe I could get it to work.  By cutting the face plate and drilling holes in the cabinet.

Super oily mess

IMG_0085.JPGIMG_0087.JPG

A great oily mess.  So good that one of Greg's cousins, which is a Police officer, dropped by to make fun.  I do not understand the rusted out cans that were not opened.  Not really that impressive, but five garbage cans full of crap.

I sent this message to Rowe today.  I wonder if they have an answer?

I have two bc-200, a bc-1400 and two extra bill acceptors. I have had someone smash in two of my bill acceptors. Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening again? The only advice I have gotten is to get rid of your changers. Is this the best advice? I have some pictures: http://cwguy.com/index.php?s=e03
Thanks
