Trash day

I guess it was trash day today, I even got a pallet.  I also got a 2004 Gulf Shores, Alabama t-shirt today.  I just wish my name was Cody because I love the air brushed Rebel flag.

Mini-blinds, vacuum claw and bad Mini

IMG_7125.JPGIMG_7128.JPGIMG_7135.JPG

I hate it when I forget my mini-blinds at the car wash.  Today, I think I had a first for almost any car wash owner:  an extra vacuum claw!  I have never purchased this design before, so instead of one getting stolen, someone gave me an extra claw.  I am not very familiar with the Mini Cooper but according to this licenses plate “BADMINI” Mini Coopers are bad so do not purchase one.

Some little problems

First picture, someone stole one of my OPEN signs.  Number 2, paint on concrete, nice!  Number 3, just some household garbage that a dog got into.  Number 4, someone was shooting up again (it is an “insulin only” needle so that settles it).

How to kill yellow jackets? Part 7

Okay, I think I am going to try Greg’s method of killing yellow jackets.

IMG_7044.JPGIMG_7046.JPGIMG_7047.JPGIMG_7049.JPGIMG_7050.JPGIMG_7051.JPGIMG_7053.JPG

Directions to combine all the ingredients using a microwave.  1) Find a crappy microwave on one of your vacuum islands.  2) Cut a microwave ready Poweraid container.  3) Add sugar.  4) Add boric acid.  5) Add some Mountain Dew.  6) Then stir.

It took around 4 minutes to combine and make the liquid.  This Mountain Dew mix seems to work well.  A yellow jacket flew over and got some then started to act weird (rolling around) then flew away.

Yellow jacket problem again

IMG_7014.JPGIMG_7016.JPGIMG_7018.JPGIMG_7025.JPGIMG_7039.JPG

Someone dumped their garbage and a dog got into the bag.  The garbage included two bags of sugar.  Great.  I did try out some Ortho Max Flying Insect Killer which worked really well on killing yellow jackets.

Someone vacuumed up a lot of screws also.

Yellow jacket drowning update

IMG_6881.JPGIMG_6882.JPG

The random beer bottle drowned around 3 and the Mountain Drew, acid, sugar trapped all the rest.  It did a very good job, but I think they just are drowning and not being poisoned?  Whatever the case, the Sprite bottle did better then the Mountain Dew bottle.

Since the majority of the yellow jacket were drowned I decided to hang my Sterling Rescue Fly Trap with the solution (I have picture so you can follow along).

IMG_6895.JPGIMG_6898.JPGIMG_6900.JPGIMG_6904.JPG

1) 1/2 cup sugar, 2) 1/4 cup boric acid, 3) 1/4 cup Mountain Dew (with backwash from garbage can), 4) stir until most of the lumps are gone, 5) install

The first arrow is the Yellow Jacket Trap and the second arrow it the Fly Trap.  Just a side note:  Greg said that the solution should be heated to combine the solution together.  I just put it in the sun to heat and combine together.
