To install my new Marathon motor and Multi-Stage Motor, I purchased some 5/16-18 stainless steel hex cap screws, flat washers and lock nuts. Why would the manufacture (Hillman) package the hex cap screws in a pack of 3, the flat washers in a pack of 5 and the lock nuts in a pack of 5? Does that make any sense? I need 8 of each so I need 2 packs of lock nuts, 3 packs of screws and 2 packs of washers?
They package them that way so the little bags can all be priced the same. Still doesn’t explain why hot dogs come in packs of 10 and buns come in packs of 8 though.
