PokemonGo…. As in GO make me some Money!? LOL :)

Okay so my kids are not obsessed with this game anymore…. But unfortunately still watch the non-award wining tv show.  🙂

I saw this from my wife’s repost of FB.  (About FB if you are not paying them money…. Basically your FB fans do not see your posts.  Just saying.)

It is interesting how the zoo has a whole event which involves no animals and just a game.  This marketing makes since.  (BTW There Dino Discovery…. is an absolute waist of money.  It should be free and I would still want a refund.  🙂 )

Here is an article about the upcoming advertising and how they are going to have ‘sponsered locations”.  But I am not sure now how purchasing a “lure” would help if you do not have a stop near your location?  (I believe a lure only works at a stop?)

Pokémon Go will soon get ads in the form of sponsored locations

UPDATE 20160822: Stupid crap….
pokemango

Things I hate…. why does everyone believe their political opinions are facts? Both sides think the other side is wrong…. (just one side is wrong 🙂 )  Plus “Trickle-Down Economics” give me a break…. isn’t that just another term for socialism or communism? It just describes the government and how they provide for their friends (top) and the needy (bottom)? LOL 🙂 See now I am as bad as everyone else!

PokemonGo…. As in GO…. Call your Parents to Pick you Up!? :)

2016-08-13_03-58-18

Sure I remember Pokemon as a kid…. I thought it was…. Well….  Animals living in a ball…. Why? Where is PETA?  Plus the cartoon….  Battles…. Etc.  I missed something…. Or I missed nothing at all.

So with PokemonGo can your business benefit from a stop or a gym?  The user demographics released say yes….  the majority being Women college graduates making 90k.  But logic and reliability seems like no?

My kids like the game (4 and 7 years old).  It is a great concept.  Even if you did not have to walk around in real life…. Or drive.  Probably a better idea also if it did not require movement?  Wait for the lawsuits…. Unfortunately.

I did my own checking today with my kids…. who wanted to check out a nearby park.  The park has over 15 stops and 2 gyms.  They apparently have meetings there also (sign).

We saw (It was an overcast Saturday and it poured 30 minutes after we left.):
-12 males < 40 years old playing openly (with their phone in hand walking around like their phone was a compass and they were lost.  🙂 )
-Maybe 1 female with a male…. Both playing.
-Also 6 kids (<10 years old) playing openly.

I would categorize only 1 person as not living with their parents.

The individual in the picture siting is “battling” (at least that is what my 4 year old said?)…. The individual behind him wondering around is….. Well loss?  LOL 🙂  There was a guy far left and he was the only normal guy there playing a game…. like a normal person and smiled at us.  There was also a guy directly behind us.

As for us…. We were also trying to catch an elusive monster…. A real life lizard!  LOL 🙂  It got away!

I really believe the demographic have to be flawed…. Sure 1/3 are guys that are 18-38. But 90% of the women are really 4-10 year olds. Or males that want to touch a female that makes 90k and graduated from college?  JK (But you can quote me on that.  LOL 🙂 )  Basically my theory is someone has to be installing the app for the age bracket the game is made for…. 4-15?  Plus the game requires GPS and how many 4-10 year olds have a cell phone?  The kids unfortunately have to use their parents current phones or extra phones.

Honestly anyone male over 16 should be playing ingress right?  I understand if you played Pokemon as a kid but…. Animals in a ball?  Plus the tv show?  It is a kids show…. just like Star Wars. Sorry…. but true.  🙂  I do sympathy I also lived with my Parents late in my life.  JK I love games also.  LOL 🙂

I would say the fact Nintendo is making the Pokemon Go Plus proves the age bracket of the users…. 4-15?  But someone has to drive these kids around…. so you should be able to market to them somehow?

Liquid Wrench to the Rescue!

2016-08-13_12-05-38
Well my rotary switch became very hard to turn and I left my spares at my house…. So I tried Liquid Wrench.  It actually started to work right away…. But the next day it was working perfectly.  I have never tried this before…. Not sure how I am going to clean it off though?  I just assumed it would not work and I was going to replace the switch the next day anyway.

Mosmatic 360 Ceiling Boom with LED light

DKZbl

There was a post about the Mosmatic 360 Ceiling Boom with Led lights a while back and while I honestly love the way the Mosmatic booms look…. the post bordered on something my kid would suggest. Do not get me wrong…. I could get behind installing led lights all over your car wash then your booms. But even the pictures….  I believe it is an impossible sell unless you have led lights on your facade. Also what I do not get…. is if you have bay lights how are you going to see the boom lights?  Plus if customers can not notice a sign…. how will they notice something above their head?  🙂  This is not the point.

I starting thinking about how to make this on any boom and this actually seems pretty easy while I was drawing it.  LOL 🙂 I found a video and apparently you would need an electrical slip ring.  Amazon sells some electrical slip rings but I could not find a unit that would be perfect I believe?  LINK

I would think the same electrical slip ring concept is used in a retractable cord reel? Like this one…. CLICK HERE (I actually just purchased it but have not installed it yet. 🙂 )

Then you would just need to purchase lights…. which you can purchase almost anywhere now. I would personally get them from Amazon though because of their return policy. Like these HERE…. but I have never purchased these.

The DEAL with Arimitsu pumps. :)

It is all a sales pitch…. just a sales pitch.  There pump is no better just more expensive upfront and more expensive for parts.  (Assuming the Arimitsu can last as long as a Cat pump?  Not sure anyone knows yet?  LOL 🙂  How ironic.  Maybe they will last longer…. I would hope so.)

Look on the chart below where Arimitsu correctly quotes stats of their pumps.    http://arimitsupumps.com/html/interchange1.php  (I assume the Arumutsu 313 is correct?  Also the Cat stats?)

arimtsu
Next chart they use their same Arimitsu 516 pump…. but claim an alternate gpm.  This 5 gpm is also quoted sometimes as normal specs when it is convenient (marketing or error who know).  But the problem with this is….

arimtsu220160710_200924a2

Both the Cat pumps compared in the top chart can actually do the same exact configuration.  In fact…. both pumps can do it cheaper upfront and are cheaper on the seal and valve kits.  Except for the 5CP2120W valve kit which is more expensive but that pump is the cheapest.

5cp 310

So if you hate charts the Cat 5CP2120W is the best pump and the best value.  The reason these pumps are compared is because everyone thinks they need 5 gpm…. which I believe is not needed at a self serve.  But this is just what everyone always “has to have” or argues is better about the Arimitsu pump.  The majority of operators use Cat 310 pumps I would guess?

Arimitsu 516: 705 Valve kit: 116 Seal kit: 95
Cat 310: 586 Valve kit: 63 Seal kit: 78
Cat 5CP2120W: 565 Valve kit: 179 Seal kit: 82

So ask anyone why they would purchase an Arimitsu  516 pump and besides being fooled by the marketing their answers will be:

  1.  Quiter  (I do not actually accept this as an answer…. absolutely the silliest answer ever.  Who cares?  Really…. Who?)
  2. Easier to work on?  (Whaaaa?  Unless they fit themselves?  I am not sure what this even entails?)

Seriously…. anyone who advises you to purchase an Arimitsu pump got them when they were $150-200 cheaper than Cat pumps.  This is the only way they made a good educated decision.  I am sorry the truth hurts sometimes.  Or just let me know…. I asked the question on a forum and not even Greg let me know what the selling points were.  I had to guess on the 2 selling points above.

You know I would purchase an Arimitsu or any other pump in a second if they cost $200-300 less than a Cat pump…. I actually looked at these pumps 5-8 years ago when they were cheaper.  That is why I remember their selling points.  Cheaper pumps and cheaper seats and valves…. yeah it is supply and demand.  Just like the College system in this country.

Today I want to Home Depot!

Today I went to Home Depot and I realized a couple things:

  • You should make sure you have HD’s app installed because there service is….  Well you need to be able to find your stuff yourself.
  • I need to order everything from Amazon.
  • You should think about ordering items online then picking them up.  HD and Lowe’s does it and it could save hours hunting around their store.

The only problem with ordering everything from Amazon is when you need something fast…. but going to a store is never fast.

It just helps to plan ahead…. basically.  All the stores have items around different items.

CustomKraft customkraft.com Innovation Made Simple

I do not think CustomKraft would mind this plug and me reposting some of their pictures. I think more companies should act like they are run by real humans. I really like it. It also seems like they have a small factory…. but lots of employees. Also no welding in any pictures?

A side note…. when I started with website development/programming. All my sites were super fly and had frames…. well…. just like poor old CustomKraft’s website. 🙂 Give me a call CustomKraft I will redo it for you. 🙂 Plus…. please get rid of the noise when you click things! 🙂

CustomKraft MultiPressure System really could get a patent?

http://www.customkraft.com/equipment/pdfs/multi-pressureinsert.pdf

So I was emailing someone about CustomKraft equipment and did not remember the company’s name…. why would I? I have never actually seen their equipment in real life. Do you know why? The person I was emailing said it cost $77k for a 6 bay unit. LOL 🙂 To put that in perspective a Jim Coleman pump stand would cost $50k for the stand and an extra $12k with the spot free. Then the cheapest cheap stuff (Which looks like resturant shelves…. might not be but the design is repurposed from somewhere…. or worse design ever…. I believe.) Etowah Valley Equipment cost $22,699.85 supposedly they come off the price also (this is list).

Anyway I like the idea of CustomKraft equipment but since every car wash basically has the same system as described in their patent I am not sure how they got a patent…. sure they are describing bypassing and low and high pressure but no one ever did this? Well it does not really matter anymore…. their patent expired on or before August 31,2010.
http://www.google.com/patents/US4327866

The present invention generally provides a car wash pumping system which can dispense any number of additional chemicals at a low-pressure utilizing a high-pressure pump without the necessity of an additional pump, pumping controls, and fluid lines to the boom and wand assemblies. The present invention may be easily installed within existing car wash systems and is of a low cost and low maintenance design. Further, the present invention does not require additional lines to be run to the boom and wand assemblies thereby not requiring additional means to prevent the freezing of these lines, such as the application of heat tape or a closed loop system, both of which are time consuming to install and expensive to operate. Further, the present invention allows for the application of cleaning chemical solutions at a low-pressure to prevent the unnecessary waste of these chemicals as well as reducing the hazard of splashing these chemicals upon the operator.

One thing that is funny…. the only thing I have heard around this system is it is “wasteful”. Personally I understand the argument and yes purging the lines it technically wasteful but their system is still very high tech for old crusty 1982 tech! LOL 🙂

Also if you ever wondered how their system worked…. well I guess check out the patent?
