C-2000 Hamilton changer controller – Update

IMG_5178.jpgIMG_5184.jpgIMG_5176.jpg

Randy got my changers working before the weekend!  The only problem is that it is supposed to rain everyday.

Actually, both of my Cycle Inhibit Adapter harnesses were broken.  I just plugged in the new ones in and everything worked perfectly.  The only thing I hate about the harness is the small terminal that does not fit the bill acceptor.  The reason they do this is so you will put the harness in wrong and blow the bill acceptor (which I have done).

New $5 bill upgrade

I guess I waited as long as I could to upgrade my MEI bill acceptors.  I got the Mars 115 volt programmer from Randy Nix at Eagle Car Wash and it was easy to do.

The MEI directions were incorrect and I had to flip all the switches to off and turn on 8 (not 6).  The flasher wire harness can only be installed one way correctly (note pins picture 2-3).

When the light turns green the programmer flashed the bill acceptor.

First problem with my MEI Mars bill acceptor?

IMG_4882.jpgIMG_4884.jpg

I guess it had to happen?  My Mars bill acceptor wanted to go on a road trip, so it ate its belts.  It might be jealous of my Rowe International BA-50 bill acceptors which get to go on a trip to the repair man every year.

So I have owned car washes for around 4 years and had one real Mars bill acceptor problem (I own 2).  But my Rowe BA-50 (own 5) breaks an average of once a year and probably have cost me $800 over the last 4 years?  You know I hate my Rowe changers even more now.  I also need to fix 2 more of my BA-50 bill acceptors now.

Summary:  I love MEI Mars bill acceptors and I HATE Rowe BA-50 bill acceptors.

MEI credit card bill system – in use

IRS note:  Now the 10 Pepsi drinks I purchased from this Pepsi machine are all a tax deduction.  At only $3 a piece that is a large deduction.  They were actually a good deal because inside the ICA show they cost $3.25.

This is really an update of the previous post on the MEI credit card bill system.  The second picture shows the antena locating for the vending machine.  I really like this bill acceptor and if you watch the exciting video the first time I swipe my card it was not read (which was the only time that happened with my research) the credit card is in very poor condition.

I checked out the “Genesis” Rowe conversion kit $995 (last picture). It replaces the bill acceptor, ccc, and power supply. The Rowe people were saying that the BC-200 conversion kit will cost around $800 and replace all the same parts.

I really liked this switch (middle picture) that they were selling; it seemed very heavy duty (10 position around $110). It reminds me of the iwash switch.

I also post the fliers that Jim Gosnell was handing out. http://cwguy.com/?page_id=2514
